CRISPY PICKLES 
4 qts. sliced cucumbers
6 med. onions, sliced
1 pod sweet pepper
1/2 c. salt
3 c. vinegar
5 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed

Slice cucumbers, onions and peppers. Add salt. Cover with ice. Let stand three hours. Drain well. Heat vinegar, sugar and spices. When it comes to a boil, add cucumbers, onions, and peppers. Let come to a boil again and boil three minutes. Put in jars and seal.
