GRANOLA SNACK BARS 
1/2 c. softened butter
3/4 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/3 c. light corn syrup
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. oats, uncooked
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Beat together butter, sugar and corn syrup in large bowl until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add oats and chocolate chips. Mix well.

Pour batter into pan; press firmly into place with moistened fingers. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on wire rack. When cool refrigerate at least 1 hour before cutting. Cut into 32 (2 x 1 1/2 inch) bars.

If using old fashioned oats add 1/4 cup all-purpose flour.
