PEPPER STEAK STIR-FRY | |
3 tbsp. soy sauce 3 tbsp. wine 1 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch 5 tbsp. peanut oil 2 tsp. sesame oil 1/2 to 1 lb. lean top sirloin 3 med. Bell peppers, sliced 1 1/2 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced 1/2 c. onion, chopped 3 thin slices fresh ginger Combine soy sauce, wine and sugar in a small bowl. Cut meat into 1/8 inch thick strips; in another bowl mix meat, cornstarch and 1/2 the soy sauce. Marinate 30 minutes. Stir fry vegetables in 2 tablespoons peanut oil on high heat for 2 minutes. Transfer to plate. Reduce heat to medium. Chop ginger, finely; fry 10 seconds over high heat. Add 3 tablespoon oil and meat mix. Cook 1 minute or until browned. Add vegetables and remaining sauce. Cook one more minute. Add sesame oil. Serve over rice. |
