PORK CHOP CASSEROLE 
4 nice sized pork chops
4 med. sized potatoes, peeled & quartered
4 carrots, each cut in 3 to 4 pieces
4 sm.- med. onions, peeled & quartered
4 apples, cored
1/3 c. raisins
1 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 can consomme (10 1/2 oz.)
1 c. water

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Brown chops in roasting pan 15 minutes. Arrange potatoes, carrots, and onions around chops. Fill apples with raisins, sprinkle with sugar and put an apple on each chop. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Add consomme and water. Lower oven temperature to 375 degrees; bake until meat and vegetable are tender (about 1 to 1 1/4 hours).

Serve immediately.
