1 box Duncan Hines Devil's food cake mix
3 eggs
1/2 c. Crisco oil
Duncan Hines vanilla frosting
Licorice laces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 1/2 quart oven-proof glass or metal mixing bowl or casserole with rounded bottom.

Mix cake according to package directions using eggs, Crisco oil and 1 1/3 cups water. Pour into prepared bowl. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in bowl on rack 15 minutes.

Place rack on top of bowl. Turn bowl upside down on rack. Remove bowl. Cool cake completely.

To assemble, place cake on serving plate. Cover evenly with vanilla frosting. Apply licorice laces in semi-circles to resemble seams on baseball.
