3 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream: butter. Add slowly and blend well: sugar and egg (beaten well). Sift 3 times: flour, baking powder. Add alternately: liquid and flour beating well after each addition, milk and vanilla.

Grease and flour loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
