3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. salt
2-3 tsp. cream of tartar
6 tbsp. cooking oil
3 c. water

Mix dry ingredients together in heavy saucepan. Stir until blended. Pour in liquid ingredients. Stir well. Cook and stir over medium heat until a large ball forms around spoon. Let cool. Take out and knead until pliable. If a color is desired, add food coloring to the water before mixing. Keeps well at room temperature.
