OATMEAL ROUNDS 
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening (half butter)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. rolled oats
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla thoroughly. Blend rest of ingredients into shortening mixture. Refrigerate 4 to 5 hours or overnight.

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough in 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with greased bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake 10 minutes. Makes 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
