BUTTER BARS
FOR CAKE:

2 1/4 c. cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
1 sticks butter, melted

FOR TOPPING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. confectioners sugar

In large bowl, mix all dry cake ingredients together. Make a well in center. In well, place eggs and melted butter. Beat until well mixed. The batter will be very sticky and thick. Spread evenly at bottom of a well greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Mix together all the topping ingredients in the order given, adding sugar last. Mixture will be runny. Pour into cake base and bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Top will be an even pale gold color. It puffs up as it bakes and cracks as it cools. Cool and cut into bars.
