HOMEMADE BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 
2 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. Crisco
1 c. buttermilk (you may use reg. milk)
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix all ingredients together. Add more flour if needed to make dough workable. Roll out. Cut and place on greased cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes at 450 degrees. Yield: 10-12 biscuits.
