1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
1 c. water
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. cook oil
Food coloring

Add dye to water until the desired tint. Then put all ingredients in 2 quart pan on stove turned on high. Stir once after starts to pull from sides, after it pulls from side 2nd time (no liquid should be evident). Dump on a pile of flour on cutting board (this is the tricky part). Then knead until cool.

This makes a large amount of playdough, therefore if you do not want so much of one color you might want to cut recipe in 1/2.
