CRANBERRY BARS
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. quick oats
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. lemon or orange peel, finely chopped
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 (16 oz.) can whole cranberry sauce
1/4 c. finely chopped nuts

In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, lemon or orange peel, and baking soda. Stir in the butter and mix thoroughly. Reserve 1 cup of the flour and oat mixture for a topping. Put the remaining oat mixture into an ungreased 7x12x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Carefully spread cranberry sauce on top of a baked crust. Stir nuts into reserved oat mixture. Sprinkle on top of cranberry sauce. Bake 25-30 minutes more or until top is golden. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 24. May be frozen!
