SCALLOPED CABBAGE AND CHEESE 
1 med. cabbage
2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. butter
2 c. milk
1/2 c. bread crumbs

Put cabbage in saucepan with a few tablespoons of water. Cover. Simmer for 8 minutes. Drain well. In mixing bowl, blend cheese, flour, salt and pepper. Arrange alternate layers of cabbage, cheese mixture and small dots of butter in baking dish. End with butter. Pour milk over all. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 6.
