CHOCOLATE STEAM PUDDING 
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 c. flour (heaping)
2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Vanilla Sauce:

Butter (size of egg)
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

(Sauce is usually doubled.)

Pudding: Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Sift 4 dry ingredients. Add dry mixture and milk, alternating. Add vanilla.

Place in greased pan and steam 30-45 minutes. Done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Usually 45 minutes. Remove cover and take out of steaming pan. To serve, cut into individual pieces.

Vanilla Sauce:

Melt butter. Add sugar to flour and stir into melted butter. Add milk, a little at a time, until smooth. Add vanilla.

Cook over low heat, stirring constantly. Spoon sauce over top of individual servings of pudding. The sauce really makes the dessert delicious.
