SCOTCH BROWNIES 
2 1/2 oz. (2 1/2 squares) unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour (sifted)
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butterscotch pieces
1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate pieces
1/3 c. sweetened condensed milk

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the chocolate and butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add chocolate mixture, eggs, vanilla, nutmeats and oats, stirring until ingredients are well blended. Pour the batter into lightly greased (9 inch) square baking pan. Bake about 30 minutes. Cool, makes 16.

For the frosting: Melt the butterscotch pieces and chocolate pieces in a small pan over low heat. Remove and stir in the milk. Immediately spread on the cooled brownies.
