DEEP DISH PIZZA | |
1 loaf frozen white bread dough 1 tbsp. oil 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 lb. ground beef 1/3 c. chopped green pepper 1/3 c. chopped onion 1/3 c. chopped mushrooms 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Salt and pepper 8 oz. grated Mozzarella cheese 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. basil Thaw and soften dough. Pat out to fit 9x13 greased pan. Brown ground beef, adding green pepper, onion and mushrooms and saute slowly until tender; set aside. Spread tomato sauce, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper, oregano and basil. Put on meat mixture. Sprinkle with Romano cheese. Finally, place Mozzarella cheese on top. Bake at 425 degrees for 20-30 minutes. You may vary with topping of choice. Freezes and reheats very well. You can have too much topping, then crust is soggy. |
