CHOCOLATE (BUTTERMILK) SHEET
CAKE
 
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. Crisco
1/3 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. plain flour
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 slightly beaten eggs
1 stick butter
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Sift dry ingredients, EXCEPT COCOA, into large mixing bowl. Combine in saucepan the butter, shortening, cocoa and water and bring to a rapid boil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Add the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased pan and bake in a 400 degree oven about 20 minutes.

FROSTING:

2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1 stick butter

Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and nuts, if desired.

Let cool. Beat until ready to spread.
