PAPER BAG APPLE PIE 
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
4-6 lg. apples (Winesap is the best to use)
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter

Pare apples, core and cut in large cubes. Mix sugar, flour and nutmeg. Toss apple pieces in mixture until well coated, then put into pie shell. Mix topping ingredients until well blended. Spread over top of apples. Place pie in a large paper bag and fasten shut with paper clips or pins. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 400 degree oven for 1 hour.
