PICNIC CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt, optional
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour

TOPPING:

12 marshmallows, cut in 1/2
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix in order given. Cover with topping of marshmallows, then nuts and brown sugar. Bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees in greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Makes large cake. Eat and enjoy!
