FAMOUS HUSH PUPPIES 
5 lb. House of Autrey hush puppy mix (any brand of hush puppy mix will do)
1 liter soda water (makes the hush puppies lighter)
1 medium onion
1 c. sugar
5 ears corn-off-the-cob (1 can kernel corn will do)
1 box Jiffy corn bread mix
1/2 oz. black pepper
1/2 oz. salt
1 1/2 c. flour (self-rising)

Mix all ingredients together; it should be a little thinner than cookie dough. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into 325°F to 350°F oil. Cook for 5 minutes.

Refrigerate batter for 12 to 14 hours before cooking.
