CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. butter, butter or shortening
1 c. chunk style peanut butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour (unsifted)
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. whole wheat shreds or Shredded Wheat (crushed with electric mixer or wooden spoon
1/4 tsp. salt

Beat together the butter, peanut butter, white sugar and brown sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; bat until light. Sift flour, soda and salt. Stir into creamed mixture until well blended. Lightly mix in the cereal. Drop rounded teaspoon of batter about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Using the tines of a fork press down flat in each direction. Bake 350 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
