BREAD SPREADS 
Use fresh or old Italian or French bread. Cut bread into slices, place on a cookie sheet and place under broiler in oven. Brown only one side. Remove from oven and spread untoasted side with one of the following spreads.

CHEESE SPREAD:

1/4 c. grated cheese
2 tbsp. grated onion
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/4 tsp. white pepper

Mix well and spread. Return to boiler until lightly brown.

BUTTER AND CHIVES:

1/2 c. soft butter
Garlic powder to taste
1/4 c. chopped chives

Mix well, and spread. Return to boiler until lightly brown.

CONNIE'S FAVORITE:

1/4 c. olive oil
1/4 c. chopped parsley
Lots of fresh ground black pepper
1/4 c. butter, melted
Garlic powder to taste

Mix well, and spread. Return to boiler until lightly brown.

HERB SPREAD:

1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. chicken flavored instant bouillon
1/2 tsp. rosemary
1/4 c. olive oil
1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. sage

In small skillet melt butter, add oil and mix in instant bouillon. Add remaining seasoning and blend well. Lightly dip untoasted side of bread in skillet. Return bread to oven and bake at 350 degrees until lightly brown.
