PUMPKIN CAKE 
1 1/2 c. Wesson or Mazola oil
2 c. sugar

Cream together and add:

4 eggs, one at a time, beating constantly
3 c. self-rising flour, sifted
4 tsp. cinnamon sifted with 1 tsp. allspice
1 can pumpkin or 1 1/2 c. cooked, drained with 1 tsp. baking soda added
3 tsp. baking powder to pumpkin

Mix well. Add flour mixture and pumpkin mixture to first mixture and beat 2 or 3 minutes.

Makes 3 thick layers.

ICING FOR PUMPKIN CAKE:

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 sm. can evaporated milk
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. black walnuts

Cook sugars and milk until all sugar melts. Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread. Add walnuts and mix. Spread on cake. Make 3 days before cutting. Takes that long to become moist.
