AU GRATIN ONIONS 
1 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
Saltines
4-5 lg. sweet onions, diced and parboiled

(Or 2 packages frozen, diced onions, thawed and drained).

Make a white sauce of:

1 stick butter
1/4 c. flour
Salt to taste
2 c. whole milk

In a large casserole, layer: 1) crushed saltines; 2) onions; 3) white sauce; 4) grated cheese. Repeat layers. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes until it bubbles.
