APPLE NUT BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. raw apples, chopped, not peeled
1 1/2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Sift flour, soda and salt. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs, blend. Add apples and remaining ingredients. Pour batter into 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan, greased. Mix 3 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.
