3 - MONTH CABBAGE SALAD 
2 heads cabbage, chopped
2 tsp. salt

Cover with cold water. Let stand 2 hours. Prepare the following: 4 c. sugar 3 green peppers Chopped carrots (if desired) 2 c. white vinegar 1 c. water 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. mustard seed

Drain cabbage after 2 hours. Add chopped celery, peppers, carrots, red peppers (or pimento). Heat sugar, vinegar, and water to boiling. Add celery and mustard seed. Cool first. Pour over cabbage mixture and put in glass or plastic containers. Keep in refrigerator. Be sure to COOL vinegar mixture!
