SATE 
1 - 1 1/2 lb. flank steak or eye round

MARINADE:

3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. sherry
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. curry powder (hot)

Trim fat from beef. Slice across the grain into pieces 2" long, 1" wide and 1/4" thick. Mix ingredients for marinade. Marinate beef for at least 30 minutes. Thread beef onto skewers. Brush with cooking oil. Broil for 3 minutes. Turn skewers, brush again with oil and broil for 2 more minutes. NOTE: Toothpicks can be used instead of skewers and sate can be served as an appetizer. 4 servings.
