This recipe is great. I also added a small can of sliced mushrooms. My boyfriend thought this chili was delicious and he couldn't believe that I could cook something that tasted so great. This was nice to eat while watching a college football game on t.v. I'm saving this recipe and making it again! Thank you Rhonda

Bravo. Great recipe. I never would have thought to use V8.

I made it with ground chicken and added two cloves of garlic to the onions. I also used red hot sauce instead of tabasco. All turned out great. Goes great with Mark Bittman's cornbread recipe!

Ok let me start off by saying, I rarely cook anymore now that my 3 boys are grown and gone. One evening I was hungry for an easy chili recipe and decided to google that!! I bought all the ingredients and decided I was going to make chili for Christmas day dinner!! (we celebrate Christams Eve) So I cooked the meat and threw the rest in the crock-pot....my middle son was here and called his dad (we are divorced but he was welcome here) and said, "Dad, come over mom is cooking!!" which is a big joke around here!! hahahaha!! My son had 3 bowls of chili, my ex 2 bowls and my sister and I each had about 1 1/2 bowls....delicious!! Made some more today, but I'm using ground turkey meat, less beans (I'm not a huge fan) and lots of chili powder!! Love it, thank-you!!! Just had some for lunch and about to get some more!!

Finally, I found a recipe with V8 juice. I know my Mom used to use it. About the only thing I would add is cocoa powder. Thanks
