SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
1 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, mashed
3 tbsp. salad or olive oil
2 cans tomato puree (1 lb. each)
2 cans tomato paste (6 oz. each)
1 c. water
1 tbsp[. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. salt
1-1 1/2 tsp. oregano
1-1 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf

In large heavy pan cook onion and garlic until crisp-tender but not brown. Add tomatoes and remaining ingredients to onion and garlic. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally. Cook for 2 to 3 hours. Remove bay leaf. Makes about 6 cups, or 4 to 8 servings.

MEAT SAUCE:

Brown 1 1/2 pounds of lean ground beef along with onion and garlic. Then proceed with the remaining ingredients and directions as given above. Makes about 7 1/2 cups or 4 to 8 servings.
