1 pound cake About 25 lg. strawberries 2 pkg. frozen strawberries 2 sm. pkg. vanilla pudding 4 c. milk 1/2 pt. whipping cream 1/4 c. powdered sugar 3 fresh strawberries This recipe may be prepared as a single layer dessert in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish or a double layer dessert in a deep round dish of about 8 inch diameter. Layers: 1. Slice pound cake to cover baking dish evenly. Place in dish. 2. Slice fresh strawberries in half and place around edge of dish, between cake and glass, cut side out, pointed side up. 3. Pour thawed frozen strawberries evenly over pound cake. 4. Prepare vanilla pudding according to package directions and cool. Pour over strawberries. Cover and chill 3 to 4 hours. 5. Over top layer only: Whip cream with powdered sugar and spread decoratively over pudding. 6. Garnish with remaining strawberries and tops. Serve immediately. |
