STUFFED CABBAGE (MAL - FOUF) | |
1 head cabbage 1 1/2 lb. ground round 3/4 c. UNCLE BEN'S® rice Salt Garlic powder 5 whole cloves garlic Crushed mint (optional) 1 c. Realemon juice Remove core from cabbage. Place cabbage (core side down) in a pot of boiling water. Remove one leaf at a time. You are NOT cooking the leaves...just making them soft so they can be rolled. Mix together meat, rice, salt and garlic powder. Add a little water to soften mixture. Place leaf of cabbage on a cutting board. Remove an discard stem of large pieces of cabbage. Put meat mixture on each piece of cabbage. Roll in the form of a cigar (no need to tuck in sides). Place in pot with cloves of garlic. Sprinkle with mint and place an inverted dish on top. Mix together water, Realemon, salt and garlic powder (to taste). Cook over medium to low heat for approximately 30 minutes. Cook on low heat for additional 10 minutes. taste for doneness. Keep covered pot on stove (will steam through) for an additional 30 minutes. |
