MARINARA SAUCE 
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic
1 lg. can tomato sauce
2 lg. cans whole tomatoes, chopped
2 tbsp. dried basil
1 tbsp. dried parsley
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
1/8 lb. butter

Saute onions and garlic until tender. Add tomato sauce and whole tomatoes then spices and simmer for 2 hours, very low heat. Meat may be added to this recipe. Serve over al dente pasta. butter can be used to saute the onions and garlic.
