4 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
1/3 or 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. melted fat
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
3 c. buttermilk

Mix the ingredients for any corn bread and pour the batter into a greased boiler and place over boiling water. Steam 1 hour. Place in oven and bake 45 minutes or until done.
