PIONEER BREAD PUDDING | |
2 c. bread cubes 2 c. milk 3 tbsp. butter 1/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1/2 tsp. vanilla Dash of salt Cinnamon, raisins, nuts (optional to taste) Cut up day old bread, crusts and all into 1/4 or 1/2 inch cubes. Quart sized buttered baking dish, place cubes in the bottom. In another bowl mix milk, butter and sugar; beat just enough, while stirring to dissolve sugar and melt butter. Beat eggs slightly, add salt then stir into the warm (not hot) milk and vanilla. Pour over bread cubes. Set the baking dish in a pan of warm water and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour until knife comes out clean. |
