2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
5 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. hot water
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

In large bowl, combine all the ingredients in order given and beat until well blended. Batter will be thin.

Bake in three 8-inch cake pans in 350°F oven for 30 minutes.
