BROCCOLI SALAD | |
4 c. raw, cut up broccoli, with some stems 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1/4 c. raisins (soaked) 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled 3/4 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise 1/4 c. sugar 2 tsp. vinegar 1 sm. carrot, grated 1 can chopped water chestnuts Celery seed, salt and pepper to taste Add all together, except the dressing. Pour the dressing over the vegetable mixture and let set for a couple of hours, stirring frequently. Do not add the chestnuts until ready to serve. They will turn brown if left setting for awhile. |
