SAUSAGE BEAN CHOWDER 
1 lb. bulk pork sausage
2 (16 oz. each) cans tomatoes, broken up
1 lg. onion, chopped
1-1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 c. peeled and diced potatoes
2 (16 oz. each) cans kidney beans
1 qt. water
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

In skillet cook pork sausage until brown. Pour off fat. In a large kettle, combine beans, tomatoes, water, onion, bay leaf, seasoned salt, garlic salt, thyme and pepper. Add sausage. Simmer covered one hour. Add potatoes. Cook covered 15 to 20 minutes until potatoes are tender. Remove bay leaf. Serves approximately 8.
