FIRE AND ICE TOMATOES 
6 med. tomatoes, peeled & quartered
1 med. onion, sliced into rings
1 med. green pepper, cut into strips
1 lg. cucumber, peeled & sliced (can substitute zucchini)

SYRUP:

3/4 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. + 2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. celery salt
1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
Salt & pepper
1/2 tsp. red pepper or couple drops Tabasco

Bring syrup ingredients to boil; boil 1 minute. Cool. Pour over vegetables and refrigerate 8 hours before serving. The vinegar mixture can be used twice and then it's too watery.
