LEMON LOAF 
1/2 c. butter (not light)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. grated rind from lemon
1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Grease 8 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add sugar while continuing to beat until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating each until well blended.

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and lemon rind together and add alternating with milk and lemon juice ending with dry ingredients and stirring well after each addition. Turn into pan. Bake 50-60 minutes or until tester comes out clean. As soon a loaf is baked, pour combined sugar and lemon juice over it. Cool.
