FARMER'S SUPPER 
1 lg. onion, sliced
2 tbsp. bacon drippings
2 lbs. stew meat
1 c. water
3 lg. potatoes, sliced
1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 c. sour cream
1 1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3/4 c. crushed Wheaties

Brown onion in bacon drippings; add meat and water. Simmer for 45-50 minutes covered. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Pour meat mixture into 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Place potato slices over meat.

Blend soup, cream, milk, pepper and salt; pour over potatoes. Sprinkle top with grated cheese and Wheaties. Bake, uncovered, 1 1/2 hours. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
