OLD FASHIONED CABBAGE SOUP 
6 tbsp. butter
4 lbs. cabbage, grated or shredded
2 onions, chopped
2 tbsp. flour
6 c. water
4 env. chicken broth powder
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. caraway seeds
Salt and pepper to taste

Melt butter in a large kettle and saute cabbage and onions for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring to prevent burning. Sprinkle with flour and mix well. Gradually add the water, while stirring until it boils. Add all the other ingredients and simmer for one hour.
