BRAZILIAN HEART OF PALM PIE 
DOUGH:

1 1/2 c. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. milk

FILLING:

3 onions, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 c. vegetable oil
4 tomatoes, chopped
2 c. milk
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1-2 hard boiled eggs, chopped
Green or black olives
1 can heart of palm, chopped

Dough: Sift starch and flour together. Add the salt, baking powder, oil and milk. Mix together well, press 2/3 of dough into a pie pan and save the rest of the dough to cover filling.

Filling: Saute onions, garlic, tomato and palm for 15 minutes. Add milk and cornstarch and heat until thickened. Add eggs, olives, salt and black pepper. Then cool and cover with rest of the dough. Brush crust with yolk of 1 egg beaten. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees or until done.
