8 oz. chopped onion 1 c. diced celery 1 tsp. sage 1 chicken bouillon 1 c. water 8 slices whole wheat (Less) bread 8 tsp. butter 2 tsp. parsley flakes Dash salt Mushrooms to taste Simmer all ingredients, except bread, until onions are tender. Add bread and stir until bread is moistened. Bake covered for at least one hour but better if you bake it two hours. Uncover the last 15 or 20 minutes to brown the top. Serves 4. |
