TOP RIBBON BANANA BREAD 
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 very ripe bananas
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 c. buttermilk or 1/2 c. milk with 1 capful lemon juice

Cream together butter and sugar. Add all ingredients until well mixed. Fold in nuts, stirring as little as possible. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours.

Makes 1 loaf.
