FROSTY DATE BALLS 
1/2 c. soft butter
1/3 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
Dash of salt
2/3 c. chopped pitted dates
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar. Stir in water and vanilla. Add the flour and salt. Mix well. Stir in dates and walnuts. Roll in 1 inch balls. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a slow oven (300 degrees) about 20 minutes or until cookies are set but not brown. While warm, roll in confectioners sugar. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
