HARVERED BEETS 
1/2 sm. beets, cooked and cut in slices
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water

Mix sugar, water, cornstarch. Add vinegar and boil 5 minutes. Add beets and let stand over low flame 30 minutes. Just before serving brings to boiling point and add butter.
