1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. applesauce or water
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. finely chopped apples
1 c. seedless raisins
1 c. nuts

Cream brown sugar and shortening. Add applesauce or water. Add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Add apples, raisins and nuts. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes at 400°F.
