TORTILLA SOUP 
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans, drained
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 c. water
1 c. picante sauce
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
Tortilla chips, coarsely crushed
Shredded Cheddar cheese
Sour cream

Brown meat with onion in 3-quart saucepan; drain well. Drain and chop tomatoes, reserving juice. Add tomatoes and juice to saucepan with beans, tomato sauce, water, picante sauce and cumin. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Ladle into soup bowls. Top with tortilla chips, cheese, lettuce, and sour cream to taste. Makes about 6 cups of soup; serves 4 to 6.
