WHISKEY SHORTCAKES 
1/2 lb. butter
1 egg yolk
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1/4 c. whiskey
1 tbsp. grated orange rind
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
Orange marmalade, raspberry preserves, jam, etc.
Powdered sugar

Cream butter until fluffy (use electric mixer at medium speed). Add egg yolk, confectioners' sugar, and whiskey. Continue beating for 5 minutes. Sprinkle orange rind over batter. Gradually add flour, stirring with wooden spoon until smooth. Drop from a teaspoon (can be placed close together, they spread very little). Add topping of choice (marmalade, preserves, etc.). Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
