7 LAYER SALAD 
1 head lettuce
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1/2 c. sliced celery
1 med. red onion, sliced
8 slices bacon, crumbled
1 1/2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
4 oz. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
2 tsp. sugar

Break the lettuce into bite-size pieces and place in large bowl. Lightly cook peas or leave frozen. Top lettuce, in layers, with peas, green pepper, celery, onion; mix together mayonnaise, sugar and then the cheese. Do not toss. Cover and place in refrigerator for 8 to 24 hours. Just before serving add bacon and toss the salad.
